Arsenal vs Leicester City : English Premier League

Arsene Wenger will be hoping for more free-flowing football as he takes Arsenal to Leicester City for the penultimate game of his Gunners reign. Arsenal are yet to earn a point away from home in 2018. It truly is a remarkably poor record. Well, they now have two more opportunities to end it before the season ends: Wednesday night’s trip to Leicester City; Sunday’s trip to Huddersfield Town. It would be shocking if they were not able to win at least a point in one of those two matches.

Wenger is stepping down at the end of the season after nearly 22 years at Arsenal, and was rewarded with an emotional, thrilling 5-0 victory over Burnley in his final Emirates Stadium home game on Sunday.

Europa League glory eluded Arsenal this season, but the players will not want to let Wenger down in his remaining two games as they bid to send the manager off in style.

But Arsenal are yet to pick up a single League point away from home in 2018 – the worst record in England’s top four tiers – and Claude Puel is also chasing points as recent defeats have left him under pressure.
Sixth place is secure. The sendoff has been given. From the outside, there is literally nothing to play for, no real reason for this game to exist. From the inside, of course, there’s a couple motivators: Sending Wenger off with a couple more wins for one, and there’s also the aspect of guys playing for jobs next year in the new world. I don’t think that means an entirely new, green, wet-behind-the-ears XI for tomorrow, but it might mean that the Jack Wilsheres and Alex Iwobis of the world put a little more spring in their step and work that little bit harder in an effort to show whoever’s watching that they deserve a place.
