Manchester City vs Brighton : English Premier League

Manchester City are looking to end the season on a high when they welcome Brighton on Wednesday evening. Manchester City are eyeing a return to winning ways when they face Brighton in their latest Premier League fixture. Pep Guardiola’s champions can still finish the Premier League season on 100 points, but need victories in their last two games to do so.

Yaya Toure is poised to make his farewell appearance at the Etihad Stadium and Guardiola has said City will dedicate the game to the veteran midfielder, who is leaving the club at the end of the season. City will also check on the fitness of captain Vincent Kompany, who has missed the last two games with a knock, but striker Sergio Aguero (knee) is out.

City were held to a surprise goalless draw against Huddersfield before they were presented with their Premier League trophy on Sunday, but will fancy their chances in midweek with Chris Hughton’s Seagulls having already secured survival with a win against Manchester United.

What the managers are saying :

Pep Guardiola : on Yaya Toure: “It’s a big occasion. The football players make the clubs bigger. Without doubt he was one of the most important players in our history. Tomorrow we will play for Yaya. I am not going to judge Yaya for this season. Maybe I was wrong for my decisions. He is a player with a huge personality. It doesn’t matter his physical condition. He loves to play football.”

Chris Hughton : “It’s nice now that we know where we are, we can plan, even regards to pre-season, 100% being able to plan everything we will do then. I don’t see dramatic changes. With any team, if you feel you can improve and be better next season, we will look at all of that, but I certainly don’t see wholesale changes.”
